Chapter 9 - Greed and Outrage

The room erupted into absolute chaos. Susan leaped from her chair, her face flushed with fury, pointing an accusatory finger directly at me. “You scheming thief! You brainwashed our mother in her final days! You stole our inheritance while we were away working!”
Richard slammed his fist onto the wooden table, threatening to sue me, the bank, and Mr. Harrison for elder abuse and undue influence. They cursed, yelled, and overturned chairs in their fit of rage, demanding to see medical records to prove Fiona had been senile when she signed the documents. Their masks of grieving children had completely shattered, revealing the raw, unadulterated greed festering underneath.

Mr. Harrison stood up tall, tapping his fountain pen firmly against the desk until the room quieted down. “Every document was signed in the presence of two board-certified neurologists who verified Mrs. Miller’s perfect mental competence. Furthermore, Mrs. Miller recorded a video statement with our firm. If you challenge this will in court, the penalty clause will force you to pay all legal fees out of your own pockets.”
