Chapter 10 - The Company-Wide Broadcast

At exactly 8:05 AM, every computer monitor across the North LaSalle headquarters, as well as twelve regional fulfillment hubs across North America, pinged simultaneously with an urgent corporate alert.
The subject line was marked with maximum priority:
> URGENT: EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TRANSITION AND GOVERNANCE UPDATE
The email, authored directly by Ellen Price on behalf of the Board of Directors, read:
> To All Employees of Whitmore Logistics,
>
> Effective immediately, the Board of Directors has placed Chief Executive Officer Daniel Whitmore on indefinite administrative leave without pay, pending the outcome of a comprehensive federal forensic investigation into executive financial misconduct, fraudulent vendor diversion, and unlawful retaliation.
>
> Former Vice President of Human Resources Melissa Grant has been suspended indefinitely pending internal investigation.
>
> The Board has initiated full criminal referrals to the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and local law enforcement regarding these matters.
>
> We wish to clarify that Mr. Ethan Carter remains fully employed as Senior Compliance Manager. He has been recognized as a protected whistleblower under federal law. Whitmore Logistics maintains zero tolerance for workplace abuse, physical violence, or retaliatory conduct at any level of this organization.
>
> An interim CEO will be announced by the Board within forty-eight hours. Operations will continue under normal parameters.
>
> Sincerely,
> Ellen Price
> Chairwoman of the Board Audit Committee
Within seconds, the quiet corporate floors erupted into whispered conversations, stunned gasps, and an overwhelming sense of vindication. For years, Daniel Whitmore’s tyrannical rule and Melissa Grant’s complicity had cast a shadow of fear over every department. In a single morning, that entire corrupt structure had been dismantled from the top down.

In the lobby below, employees began to softly applaud as the police officers escorted Daniel Whitmore out of Conference Room A through the side exit to an awaiting squad car, his tie unspooled, his coat held loosely in his hands, his eyes staring blankly at the pavement.
