Chapter 1 - THE WIFE NOBODY KNEW
For three years, Leela Voss had been secretly married to Jackson Cole, one of Skycross Airlines’ most respected captains and the heir to the Cole aviation empire.
Nobody at the airline knew.
Not the pilots.
Not the executives.
Not even the flight attendants who worked beside Leela every week.
Jackson had always claimed secrecy protected them from gossip, family pressure, and accusations that Leela had received special treatment.
Leela had accepted that explanation because she loved him.
Then Jenna Carter returned.
Jenna was Jackson’s former girlfriend, Skycross’s newly appointed head of flight safety—and Leela’s half-sister.

That silence broke something inside Leela.
She transferred away from Jackson’s flight.
The next day, Flight 312 suffered a terrifying systems failure at 35,000 feet. Navigation data became corrupted, cockpit displays contradicted one another, and the pilots began losing confidence in the aircraft’s information.
Leela stepped into the cockpit.
The supposedly ordinary flight attendant calmly identified the corrupted data path, helped the pilots isolate unreliable inputs, and guided them toward procedures no cabin-crew member should have understood.
Flight 312 landed safely.
But when Leela entered the terminal, she found Jackson standing beside Jenna while employees whispered about how perfect they looked together.
Worse, Jenna spoke for him.
And Jackson allowed it.
Then Skycross discovered wider vulnerabilities in its safety systems.
The company began offering an extraordinary amount of money to recruit an elusive aviation systems specialist whom executives believed could save the airline.
Jenna insisted she was the most qualified person inside Skycross.
Leela remained silent while everyone dismissed her as a flight attendant.
Because none of them knew the truth.
